چکیده

Wetting of the pore walls of porous templates is a simple and convenient method to prepare nanotubes. Ferroelectric lead zirconate titanate and barium titanate nanotubes were fabricated by wetting of porous silicon templates of polymeric precursors. The ferroand piezoelectric properties of an individual ferroelectric either of a PZT or a BaTiO3 nanotube were electrically characterized by measuring the local piezoelectric hysteresis. A sharp switching at the coercive voltage of about 2 V was shown from the hysterisis loop. The corresponding effective remnant piezoelectric coefficient is about 90 pm/V. We also expect that free-standing ferroelectric nanotubes obtained by partial etching of the silicon template will be used as building blocks of miniaturized devices and can have a significant impact in the field of nano-electromechanical systems.

Ferroelectric Heater by use of Pb(ZrTi)O3 and BaTiO3 Ceramics

A ferroelectric heater under A.C. field was demonstrated by using lead zirconate titanate and barium titanate ceramics. The temperature of the ceramics was increased from room temperature to its curie temperature of phase transition under an A.C. field. The heating characteristics greatly depend on the compositions of ceramics. It is proposed that the heating behavior is related to the domain s...

Photochemical growth of silver nanoparticles on c(-) and c(+) domains on lead zirconate titanate thin films.

The photochemical growth of silver nanoparticles on the negative domains of lead zirconate titanate thin films is reported. A sample of highly [100] orientated lead zirconate titanate, with a ratio of 30:70, that was 65-70 nm thick grown on Pt-coated MgO was poled by use of piezoresponse force microscopy to produce defined regions of surface positive and negative polarization. A comparison betw...

Chemical solution growth of ferroelectric oxide thin films and nanostructures.

Chemical solution deposition (CSD) provides a low-cost, versatile approach for processing of thin and ultrathin ferroelectric films, as well as short and high aspect ratio ferroelectric nanostructures. This review discusses the state of the art in the processing of ferroelectric oxide thin films and nanostructures by CSD, with special emphasis on nucleation and growth phenomena. The effects of ...

The ferroelastic phase transition and non-180° domain switching in La-modified lead zirconate titanate ferroelectric ceramics.

The ferroelastic phase transition and shape memory effect in La-modified lead zirconate titanate ferroelectric ceramics are demonstrated directly through the temperature-dependent macroscopic recoverable strain measured in a three-point bending configuration. X-ray diffraction measurements reveal that non- 180° domain switching occurs in the mechanically poled sample in two different ways at th...

Polarization reorientation in ferroelectric lead zirconate titanate thin films with electron beams

Ferroelectric domain patterning with an electron beam is demonstrated. Polarization of lead zirconate titanate thin films is shown to be reoriented in both positive and negative directions using piezoresponse force and scanning surface potential microscopy. Reorientation of the ferroelectric domains is a response to the electric field generated by an imbalance of electron emission and trapping ...
